REGISTER FOR: Academic Skills Orientation – Library Evening Session
Mon, Oct 6, 2025, 6:00 PM
Griffith Library’s Orientation session is designed to support both new and returning learners.
We understand that each learning journey is unique – whether you’re starting college for the first time, returning as a mature student, studying full-time, part-time, or on a blended programme.
This practical session will help you discover the resources best suited to developing your academic skills, confidence, and competencies. We’ll guide you through the library services available on each campus and show you how to access essential online resources to support your studies.
You’ll also be introduced to a range of learning supports, including tools to enhance your research, writing, and referencing skills. One particularly useful tool we’ll explore isZotero, which many of our students use to manage their time effectively, organise their references and support their academic writing.
If you’re new to college or returning after a break, this session is a great starting point. For returning students, it’s also an opportunity to explore resources you may have missed previously and build further on your academic skills.
We look forward to welcoming you and hearing from you how we can best help you.
We are proud of the research work undertaken by staff and students of Griffith College. Griffith Open provides a valuable platform to highlight the extensive and diverse range of research endeavors within our institution.
Open access to research enhances the visibility and the impact of the work, the author and the College.
A big welcome all our learners and staff to our physical libraries and our online supports for remote access.
Visit our Opening hours page for up to date information on the Cork, Limerick and Dublin campus times.
Library staff are here to assist you at every stage, we offer a wide range of services to support you in your studies, both in person on campus and remotely.
Below are two information videos to introduce you to our services. In the first our Head Librarian, Robert McKenna, gives an overview of what the Library can offer you as a learner, and how we aim to support you in your studies. The second video introduces our wide range of digital, online resources. Visit our Student Support section for further information on Library resources and supports.
A well-placed tutorial seen at the right time can be very helpful. We create guides and tutorials regularly, and upload these to our Griffith Library YouTube channel.
